What is FluxBox?

Fluxbox © is yet another windowmanager for X. It's based on the Blackbox 0.61.1 code. Fluxbox looks like blackbox and handles styles, colors, window placement and similar thing exactly like blackbox (100% theme/style compability).

Fluxbox Installation in Debian

# apt-get install fluxbox

Running Fluxbox session

You can use xdm to go to fluxbox. Install xdm

# apt-get install xdm

Enter as root user and in the xterminal type

#startfluxbox or #fluxbox

If you close the xterminal, fluxbox finishes ( If you want to close X Window System pres CTRL + ALT + DELete ).

If you are using GNOME run the following commands to start fluxbox

#gnome-session or #startx

All the Fluxbox config files are stored in the .fluxbox dir in your /home directory.for more details and check the fluxbox documentation
